Last time we learned that Jesus does the same works He sees His Father do. Greater works so that we will marvel. We learned that both the Father and the Son raise the dead. Then too, a big subject that was opened up was judgment and I might do a message on that in the context of this chapter. There are four or five scriptures of this chapter I’d like to talk about. John 5:22 sets the context by saying ‘for not even the Father judges anyone, but He has given all judgment to the Son. If that doesn’t set off some whistles, you haven’t been to church lately. Then verse 5:23 makes Jesus equal to the Father by saying,’so that all will honor the Son even as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.’ That is why judgment was given to the Son so people would be nice to Him or honor Him. Isn’t that why we be nice to the judge in court? so that if he judges us it will be favorable. We should be nice to Jesus because He will judge us and we want Him to be nice to us. We must honor Him because it is the Father’s works He does. Remember all the great miracles Jesus did? Those were the Fathers works which let us know He has God as Father and so he is equal to God.
The next verse is one of the favorites of the entire Bible. In it we can learn how to receive spiritual life from Him so that we can escape judgment. This is from the ‘Believers Bible Commentary” paraphrased. It is John5:24. Great crowds of believers have become believers and acquired eternal life because of the importance of its meaning. It could be the case for it being a highly rated favorite is that it very clearly explains the way of salvation so very concisely. In many translations this verse begins with most assuredly or some truly truly. This expresses how important to Jesus it was in introducing it this way. Most assuredly appears seven times in the chapter- a very important chapter it is.
This is followed by,’I say to you’. The reason why this is significant is that the Son of God is about to speak to us in a personal and intimate way. All the words have meaning.
He who hears my word- To actually hear His word is to understand and believe and obey what He says, not just hear, its a life changing decision. Many people heard what happened but do absolutely nothing about it. So Jesus means that a believer must accept His teaching as divine and to regard as right and true that He is the Savior of the world.
The next phrase, ‘And believes in Him who sent Me’. It is a matter of accepting what God says as the truth. Does that mean you only have to believe Jesus is God? Many say they believe HIM but have never been converted. But he is trying to express that you must believe Him, that He sent Jesus into the world. He must completely realize the truth that God sent Jesus to be our Saiour – to save the world. He must also believe what God meant by sending Jesus, that He is the only Savior and that sins can only be dealt with through His work on Calvary.
‘     Has everlasting life’, You can see that he doesn’t say He will have everlasting life but that right now it is his, the believer. Jesus gives us His life. Which is higher quality and will go on forever. It is the spiritual life from the Savior and when received it is from being born again. This is spiritual eternal life not like the life he received at his first birth.
‘And shall not come into judgment’. This concept means he is not condemned now nor ever will be in the future. This one who believes in Jesus and the father who sent HIM is free from judgment because Christ has given him pardon from the penalty of his sins. Christ died as our substitute only once, and that is enough. He completed the work and nothing has to be added ever again. A Christian will never have to be punished for his sins.
‘But has passed from death into life’. We have proceeded out of death into a state of spiritual life. Before we get converted we are spiritually dead in trespasses and sins. He or she was dead to the love of God and fellowship with Him. By placing his faith in Christ the Holy Spirit came and lives in him and he possesses divine life.

oh 4:34 Jesus *said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work.
Joh 4:35 “Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest.
Joh 4:36 “Already he who reaps is receiving wages and is gathering fruit for life eternal; so that he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.
Joh 4:37 “For in this case the saying is true, ‘One sows and another reaps.’
Joh 4:38 “I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored and you have entered into their labor.”

Food is for energy and strength. Have you ever been so charged up by an activity that you put off eating for awhile. You could do this without eating because it was so interesting and absorbing as to be fuel in itself. This is what Jesus was feeling here.
Doing His Father’s will turned Him on so much He didn’t need to eat. Maybe he hadn’t eaten for a day or two because He was travelling and there was no food there.

Did He get tired and run down and not care. No He found His life in doing the Fathers will. He obeyed and evangelized and got strength from it. This is just one of the examples of Jesus finding a bubbling over pleasure in doing God’s will.
He wanted to talk to the woman at the well. He wanted to tell her about the Messiah and she and her whole town got saved. he put a little extra effort into it and a great thing happened. God will often reward our second wind or extra mile with success.
A few years ago I was passing out desserts here for the entire service of the meal. I could have quit but I didn’t and everybody got one. It brought so much joy to the people and the ministry proved its effectiveness.
I think the fields must be ripe for harvest now as then. But I keep thinking there is not much fruit to salvation or fruit to repentance now. I don’t see many getting saved or volunteering to help or having a good witness about the Lord. Pretty much silence about anything here.
Fruit to salvation would mean that we were being effective in peoples lives. That having something to eat and hearing the Word of God was leading people to let the Lords love in enough to have a changed life. Fruit to repentance would be being sorry for our lawlessness and wanting and doing, living a good life. That would be much cause for joy, both yours and ours.
We are content doing the Lords will, seving people. Giving food, water, shelter, warmth, a listening ear, clothes, and the love of God.
There must be so many atheists out there and people that are into other things. I read a letter from a atheist lady the other day and she had everything rationalized. Christians were the bad guys and they were the awesome people. That may be Ok for here on earth but it won’t fly on judgement day. She was living in the futility of her mind as it says in Ephesians. Her mind was set on the flesh and was experiencing a depraved mind, denying the truth. She was so deluded that I could not argue with her, nor did I want to. I kind of felt sorry for her because she was laughing herself into judgement. So, we can feel we are all right but if we are not following Christ we are in for trouble.
God is only good, its the devil we have to avoid. Spiritual warfare is the name of the game. You know this when you stand for the righteousness of Jesus. Then the world the flesh and the devil become your enemies and you have to fight almost hand to hand to keep free and to keep them from ruling your lives. That is how we stay free and in love with Jesus. Its hard and it is not like beating the air. It is real.
Many times going down the road my thoughts are blaring in my head and then they turn evil and are challenging me to dwell on evil but that is not what I want and I fight my flesh for control of my thoughts because God put me in control and I don’t want to sin in my thoughts. The world tries to tell me what to think and do too.      Therefore there must be a devil behind It. That experience of pure evil, denying all good and becoming overwhelming sometimes, I can’t be the only one. People have demons very often oppressing them and they can turn on others. That explains why some can’t endure the name Of Jesus. Christians are under attack and this is why- the spiritual truth – there are demons and haters of GOD.
Romans 1:30 according to Paul. He is our expert here.

I kind of took off in the opposite direction of these scriptures. The harvest must be ripe and it is in other countries like China and continents like Africa and the Middle East.
Anyway many got saved in Israel in Christs time and many more in Pauls time. It started with John the baptist and is still going. The Apostles were helping and then they became the main force. Many are waiting for a leader to come and fulfill the world. You will be surprised, he will be the anti christ.

Joh 4:47  When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.

Joh 4:48  Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.

Joh 4:49  The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.

Joh 4:50  Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.

Joh 4:51  And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.

Joh 4:52  Then enquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.

Joh 4:53  So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.

Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.

Jesus said this about the Jews mainly.  The miracles that were done among the Gentiles helped them to believe also.  Simon the magician did magic tricks in Samaria.  But his tricks were phony.  When he saw Philipp really heal someone he asked if he could give him money to get this power.  Philipp refused him because of the money motivation.  He believed anyway and became a Christian and later got the Holy Spirit.

Why, why? Can’t we do the simplest thing and believe the Lord.  Have we been lied to?  Have you given your life to some false god and been burned?  But when the truth comes along we can’t believe!  What are we worried about?  It is simple really and we talked about it before.  Why should we care about giving up our sinful ways.  Is that the dearest thing we own?  Are we going to be so uncomfortable without it?

We are frozen like sharks in a feeding frenzy and can’t stop.  That is where Jesus is calling us from.  He usually gets the weak and injured.  He gives them a whole new life and heals them.  But most of us are famished for love.  Jesus is love.  Why not ask Him for some love.

Oh, we really got to have that man or we need or a new hat to look good- so we steal one.  Oh, we can’t love God right now, I can’t love myself.  It just boils down to excuses, because where God leads He provides.  Where God guides He provides.  Faith is what makes progressive things happen: rehab, New Year’s Resolutions, a new job or a new blog.  You have got to believe it will happen and very strongly.  Because whenever you get weak you will need a fresh in flow of strength.  Jesus can do that.  Earthly sources can fail you.

The hippies all fell into the drug culture but they couldn’t stay there forever.  What happened to them?  They are not choosing Jesus either for the most part.  They are locked on course with the world and God says not to love the world, because it won’t get you anywhere in eternity.  It happens quite the opposite really, it won’t get you nowhere good anyway.

Why do we need miracles we have other things noteworthy.  No one will pick up a Bible.  ‘It’s hard to read’, they say.  Few will come and find love in a church.  ‘Sex is better’.  But sex will separate you from God unless you are married.  Why is that, why does that have to be?  Ah, you have experienced it!  God wants us to be married one time and live according to his law of love in marriage.  If you do that and don’t quit unless God says you can, you will do all right!

We even have miracles too:  my wife and I take care of the prayer chain and once in a while we see something special happen that we think is awesome.  Something that only God could do.

You have to get into church and find out for yourself.  It takes time and until you are ready for all of God you are not going to get the whole picture; and sorrow and desperation is the fuel.  This is totally true, so much so that you can’t get enough of God.  Just keep going like some of you are going and it will happen.  Then when you see the changes that will happen, it will reinforce your faith.  But what is going to get you to try.  What is going to get you to try??!

As with this man and his son at some point he was going to have to step out in faith and trust Jesus.  He was going to have to take a chance and believe Him.  It seemed profitable for him to do so after all he knew about Jesus.  The loving, the kind, the lowly, the truthful, the healer, the way to eternal life.  He does it all if we turn to Him and believe!

Jesus’ Funny Words

Jesus is talking to the Samaritan woman at the well of Jacob in Samaria.  His apostles arrive and make it seem like a Rabbi shouldn’t be talking with a woman.  This is according to the Jewish tradition.  Jesus is all pure and holy and knows how to talk to a woman and can witness to a woman.   He does a very good job of it.  He doesn’t condemn her.  He knows her through and through.  He respects her and the people in her town respect her witness about Jesus.  Jesus treats her like she deserves salvation as much as any man.  They don’t treat her like a door mat or someone to discriminate against because she had five divorces and was living with a man now.  I guess that is true today too, that a woman in a lot of cases is getting more respect for her life style choices and for just being a woman.  But here, way back when, we find this woman being treated well by Jesus and her whole town; not unusual for the time.

Then she says,  Joh 4:20  “Our fathers worshiped in this mountain, and you people say that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.”

Joh 4:21  Jesus *said to her, “Woman, believe Me, an hour is coming when neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father.

Joh 4:22  “You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews.

Joh 4:23  “But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.

Joh 4:24  “God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Samaritans had changed where and how they worshipped since becoming the lost 10 tribes by leaving Judah and Benjamin in Solomon’s time because of high taxes.  They honored a mountain rather than a city and they changed their worship customs in order to become a whole and separate nation from Judah.  These were the lost 10 tribes.  They hadn’t though been called by God to worship this way.  Jesus said salvation is of the Jews.   He did not disrespect the woman by saying so.  He just told the truth.

This is a very curious statement- do we believe it or let it go.  Jesus sounds very positive here and sure of himself.  If He is right then that changes everything.  Then we can believe in the God of Israel, then we can believe in the Jewish scriptures if salvation is of the Jews.  We can see that Jesus is an extension of GOD and we can know that He is the Messiah.  This testimony carries a lot of weight.  It solves a lot of the mystery of life and makes the truth clear.  There is absolute truth and this is it.

We do have a choice though between heaven and hell, between the truth and a lie.  We can choose a clean life and Jesus or we can walk in darkness.  God is seeking worshippers- those who will and the rest He keeps calling.  Answer the call.

He seeks those who will worship Him in spirit and truth.  In our emotion- knowing that we love HIM.  Worship in our minds, our hearts and souls.  All of us should worship God with our whole being.  A full heart a complete person being humble and worshiping is a sweet savor to God.  In truth: worship with our lives.  Be a good example of what God has done there.  Let the world see how God has changed you for the better.  A changed life is the great witness of the Christian and can’t be denied sometimes what God has done in us.  God is a Spirit that’s why we can’t see Him though he is everywhere.

When we got saved we became spiritual beings and were more on Gods level where we can worship in spirit. More like God with godliness to praise Him for.  That in itself is a blessing it is a less troubled life with which to deal.  Don’t sweat the small stuff.

Sorry only ten minutes!     God provokes so many feelings in our hearts.  He has done so much work, He is so good, so powerful, big, awesome.  And humbling ourselves…   its completing- makes us complete.  Worship is the natural expression of His awesomeness and our humility.  It’s like looking at the stars.

David worshipped God wonderfully, putting God up, where he is:  and was expressing his truth, knowing Him.  In Psalm 2:11, ‘Worship the Lord with reverence and rejoice with trembling’.  This is instruction again to worship God like the scripture, ‘in spirit and truth’.

Our worship band is going to be before all heaven someday playing songs with a glorified body, being totally uninhibited and worshipping God.  Top 40, Top Worship and you will hear our voices ring upward in thanks for just being there for going through the plan of salvation and making it to heaven.  Grateful.  God will be so pleased and it will be good forever and forever.  Thank you.  I wish you a Merry Christmas.

Katy Perry- Not Christian?

Joh 3:19 “This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.
Joh 3:20 “For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.
Joh 3:21 “But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.”

Jesus said there was judgement for not believing in HIM. Then He tried to explain it by saying those who did this loved the darkness. Now many people are seeing evil in Jesus for this kind of thing and are rejecting Him because the truth doesn’t make them happy. Perhaps there is hardness in it that they don’t understand. “Why would a loving God not make me happy”? But Jesus has this standard He wants us to meet and we can’t. So do we quit trying? Nothing gets accomplished if we quit.
Here is somebody that went the whole other way from born again Christian to cult leader.

“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and [money].- Jesus Christ, Matthew 6:24.”

Pop Mega-Star Katy Perry recently made waves in the Christian media when she announced that she is not a Christian and is an adherent to the New Age Movement. While there may be shock and sadness over this announcement, Beginning and End has chronicled the blatant sinful rebellion that has been a part of Perry’s music and videos for years. Her announcement is yet another sign of pop culture’s open movement away from God and the promotion of anything to do with the Christian faith.
Perry has left behind her born-again past and finds spirituality through the  writing of Eckhart Tolle (The Power of Now influenced the song  “This Moment”); practicing Transcendental Meditation (“the best thing I got out  of my previous relationship, because it was introduced to me via my  ex-husband”); and therapy. “I don’t believe in a heaven or a hell or an old man  sitting on a throne. I believe in a higher power bigger than me because that  keeps me accountable. Accountability is rare to find, especially with people  like myself, because nobody wants to tell you something you don’t want to hear.  I actually don’t trust people who start to turn on me because they get scared of  telling me the truth. I’m not Buddhist, I’m not Hindu, I’m not Christian, but I  still feel like I have a deep connection with God. I pray all the time—for  self-control, for humility. There’s a lot of gratitude in it. Just saying ‘thank  you’ sometimes is better than asking for things.” – Katy Perry interview in Marie Claire Magazine.

Perry started her career as a Contemporary Christian Music or CCM singer. When she did not achieve the financial success she envisioned for herself, she tur
Why do people love darkness more than light. She had salvation and talent, then money became the focal point. Now she has more than she knows what to do with but lost her faith. Another case of a millennial expecting more than the truth could provide.
I’m quite content with the truth. It provides everything I need in moderation. The article is right it does provoke sadness and a deep smoldering rage. I don’t know why it just does. A feeling that I should try harder, it is tough but I know God’s principles work and the end result is amazing or astonishing and makes me marvel at God for what he has done for us. Katy Perry said she prays for humility but her decision was pride as she lives in rebellion to God and tries to justify herself.
The rich young ruler in the Bible who called Jesus ‘good’ also loved his money and made a conscious choice to keep it and go away sad and confused about eternal life. Jesus knew his riches were in his way. I count my blessings often that I’m not rich. I also wish I had a few extra bucks once in a while too.
The darkness, the world is so tantalizing. We have to consciously not love it. ‘But for the grace of God go I’. Nobody needs that kind of temptation. But if we are lucky enough not to have that talent or to make those choices we do well by default. Only a few get that ‘in demand’ and many of them fall. Anybody who lets a little of the world in is going to have a nagging temptation to deal with. We are not made to face such temptation. Jesus said run from fornication but I think He meant all sin.
Pro 22:4 The reward of humility and the fear of the LORD Are riches, honor and life.

Joh 4:10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
Joh 4:13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
Joh 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
Joh 4:25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.
Joh 4:26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.

By His own words He is the Messiah. By Peter’s words, who said, ‘you are the Christ the Son of God’. ‘You have the Words of eternal life to whom shall we go?’ Over and over again they believed in HIM and were healed and even the demons called Jesus the Messiah. There were many witnesses to Jesus being the One who would save them. But it would be saved from their sins and from going to Hell. He gave them a better way to live and it was challenging because it went against their normal way of hating their enemies. He gave them a better law to follow- ‘Love God and love your neighbor as yourself.’

Read 4:10. One of the gifts of God is The Word of God or living water. Wouldn’t she have asked the Messiah for anything? eternal life? In Gods words is eternal life. It begins with one drink or one seed planted and watered. How many drinks of the water of life will it take to be born into eternal life, only one. Drink until you are satisfied, quench your thirst never to be thirsty again. Eat from the tree of life, only one bite should be enough to live forever. What is it that is so refreshing so satisfying that you can live without end. It was made by GOD for that purpose.
Jesus is moving in two directions here living water and who He is. First the living water. Jacobs well was earthly water and she had to draw water there every day because she got thirsty. But Jesus’s living water was spiritual and would quench the inner man with knowledge of the truth and of God. You can find the absolute truth. This is it. Jesus speaks the truth. His water does satisfy. All you have to do is take it in- read the word. Its alive it changes you, what He says about himself, that He is the way, That His death can forgive our sins and heal our relationship with GOD. It Can. If we follow Him.

Don’t be afraid of change, Jesus life is better. Don’t be afraid of Jesus as God, He doesn’t condemn you in your new life. He loves you. Search the scriptures and you will find out. I’m translating the scriptures from the Greek right now and when you see all the possible meanings of the words the picture it is trying to create is a whole lot fuller and more meaningful and colorful. Its kind of on steroids, filling in your questions and misunderstandings and becomes clearer. Its a good way to search the scripture to provide you meaning and show you more about Paul and Jesus whom we are emulating- being like.

Read John 4:14. The scriptures are life to us, they are a well of life, different things some old some new, all like spice. We get to be our own person in Christ, though united and I know how you value those things. Jesus tells the Samaritan woman that He exists in His own right. He is the great I AM- the Messiah. Thats where He is coming from and why He is believable. With all the words of knowledge He gave her- she knew. “He told me all things I ever did.” ‘I perceive you are a Prophet’. Then to have Him say He is the Messiah, she had to take it to her whole town…’Is this the CHRIST?’ It must have been a very exciting day in that town and in that womans life. So they believed and they all got saved. The harvest was ripe.

But did they keep at it and stay following Jesus without ever seeing Him again. They had all the same temptations we have and life went on and got boring again. But they did get saved and maybe it didn’t matter? Did they question having seen Him? He talked with them 2 days- was that enough? Some it was , some it wasn’t. But we have to keep at it. Keep refreshing His words in our minds, keep being faithful to it and keep hoping in heaven and being like Jesus and bringing in the harvest. Think of all the generations before us, some made it some didn’t. Jesus puts it in all our power to make it if we want it bad enough, we can do it. Please keep trying, Please make it. Please get saved. There is ever giving life in that water and with true faith and hope and joy in it, it will be our strength. We can, we must.

Lumberjacks Are Human

There was a lumberjack.  He got a job in a forest fire tower for five or six months. He was alone and low on provisions.  At the end of the first month he was talking to himself.  At the end of the second month He was ‘done with this job’.  During the third month he was talking to trees and they were talking back.

He started to feel guilty and didn’t know why.  He was on edge and insecure.  If the guys were here he could touch and swear.  He would know their strength and stability.  He thought about his friends and he wished they were here.  Some guys are not cut out for this job he thought but it just made him more fearful because he had so much time left.  No cell phone service either.

He started thinking about God to get rid of the guilt.  This is just like solitary, must be.  Six months in solitary is common.  Something has got to tame an angry man & silence can do it.  A healthy man has people around him, interaction and relationship; but silence is cheap and available.

Then approached an electric storm, striking the tower and grounding out.  It scared the daylights out of him.  I’m not myself, scared, lonely, troubled, but about what?  Silence works on a man, no present or future here just the past.  I’ve been dwelling on the past for six weeks.  Old pains coming back, old humiliation, like it was yesterday.  But nobody to strike at or beat up or bully!  Can’t make them go away.  Why it won’t heal, being childish, angry still at the wife at dad and at my bosses.  It’s all bottled up; still no way to drain the pus- the hate and the revenge and fear.  This place is reducing me to a pile of feces.  It’s all part of it, small comfort, when does it end.

Then headaches, and ran out of aspirin.  Day looks hazy, night is so dark, lightning storms, silence, seeing things.  Tried to take a walk back, got lost, and looked up, the tower glooming over me.  Radio dead. How am I going to make contact in case of a fire?  Sweats, nightmares, listen!  Mom’s talking, “Remember son your father loved you; it was self-defense.  He shouldn’t have done that to you.  Guilt and anguish came and tears.  But still mom was there laughing and crying and hating on her husband.  Foul words began emanating about him too, and ‘You should have killed me too.  Now I’m going to make you suffer.  With a rill of laughter and a strange tone she raised the top of his head and shouted ‘the devil get ya son’ and like a witch she laughed until he cried.

Laughter is painful abuse when you can’t get a grip, when you are looking for belonging.  You find only wretched hatred banging on your hands and you begin to fall.  Can’t catch, don’t catch- into the abyss of terror.  More laughter, strange figures, evil presence, ‘lost your mind’?  ‘An ounce of good from Sunday school, will it save you?’  It said in a very scary twisted voice.  He began to pray: ‘God help me, God save me, like before.’  Are you sure you have had enough’ came the sordid reply.  Mom.  More of the same for days- two weeks.  Not a cloud in the sky, hot.

Guilt can hit for any reason at anytime to anybody.  Some of us have irrational guilt for things not our fault.  But I can assure you that Jesus is the God of guilt.  That he is greater than it and is in control, and He can make it go away, but will He?  God uses a certain amount of guilt to show us when we have sinned.  It is good to know so we can keep anything from coming between us and God in our relationship with Him.  Almost all guilt is not of the Lord.  Some is healthy as an indicator we are outside the law of love as I said.  But doing God’s will is not only obeying laws but finding our way back to Him after sinning or living a life of sin.  He has made a way by repentance and reaffirming our faith in Jesus.  By repentance I mean having remorse for our sin and turning our backs to it and turning our fronts to face God and keep our eyes on Him.   So Jesus forgives us, and His death on the cross can cover all sin.  But we don’t continue in sin that this grace of forgiveness may be constantly flowing to us.  Heaven forbid we keep on sinning.  We want to be holy as God is holy and God may take sin away from us.  But mostly He wants us to be humbled by it.

We often have autonomic guilt triggered by things we think we have done wrong.  But I think it’s useless to fight it.  It will just come back another day.  It is one of the many ways we let ourselves know, and God lets us know we need God.  He gives us a kind of foreboding in our depraved minds.  Guilt over sin, fear of punishment.

We can be free of it definitely.  When it becomes unmanageable, God can free you from it.  But listen to it, we feel bad for things we’ve done, and how we acted.  Guilt is human.  We need to be very sorry for these things if we are to be saved, if God is going to act to save us from our guilt.  That’s the first step- to know you are a sinner.  God is the forgiver of sins.  If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  But be sorry, don’t just seek an escape from guilt.  It’s all about getting saved and the chance to live a normal life and be free of the confusing trouble of guilt.
